Ubisoft will announce multiple Assassin's Creed games during its Ubisoft Forward showcase this weekend, says a new report from Bloomberg. Said report adds some serious fuel to the rumours that have been doing the rounds over the last couple of weeks, which have suggested that the French publisher has big plans for the franchise's future.
According to the article, everything revolves around Assassin's Creed Infinity — the live service platform which will cover multiple games across different points in history. Infinity's first two games are apparently codenamed 'Red' and 'Neo', or 'Hexe'. The former is reportedly set in Japan, while the latter takes place during the witch trials of the Holy Roman Empire. Quite the mix, then.
However, Bloomberg notes that these projects aren't expected to release until 2024 at the earliest — which is interesting. For Ubisoft to reveal this stuff over a year from potential launch dates would mean that it must be pushing for a significant marketing cycle. Again, big plans.
And of course, these Infinity titles will supposedly be unveiled alongside Assassin's Creed Mirage — the next game in the series, which has already been made official.
How does all of this sound to you? Is Infinity something that has your attention? Feel free to bring up Ghost of Tsushima in the comments section below.

These folk from Bloomberg should seriously be taking up positions in the Intelligence services, M15 or CIA or something.
I would like to bring up Ghosts of Tsushima
I know some good can come of this, but I really hate how Ubisoft is trying to live service everything, leading to the point where their singleplayer games are caught up in the crazed crossfire. Making multimillionaire aren’t enough for them, apparently.
Both ideas sound really interesting. Ghost of Tsushima takes place during one specific period in Japan’s history. There’s a whole load of periods this could take place in.
@Smiffy01 They've been wrong so many times already that even if they get something right, it will be like a broken clock that is right twice a day.
I have no issue with live service after experiencing genshin impact , i just hope the game will be rich and not just a cash grab
@naruball I've always found that expression odd. If I'm using a broken clock to tell the time how would I know when the 2 occasions it is right are occurring? I'm overthinking it aren't I
i want the original assassin's creed rereleased on ps5. ive them on steam but i like the option for ps5 to
At this point im looking forward much more to Mirage if the rumours about it are true.. A live service game or whatever it is has the potential to completely ruin the series, hoping the idea of Infinity is based around the Animus.. ie the social hub where we can hop into other points of time, but I have a feeling its just going to be a cash grab and go horribly wrong at launch, prove us wrong Ubi!
@naruball Haha aye that's true 😄
I will wait and see. I'm in a huge AC fix since december, playing all the games in the series in release order. So, whatever they send, I will get!!
Why does Ubisoft ALWAYS leaks their own games before the official reveal?
And don’t tell me they don’t leak it themselves as this ***** happens EVERY SINGLE TIME, I haven’t seen an Ubisoft event where I didn’t know exactly what I was going to see in the last decade…
Please do not make any more collectathons and bland open worlds....
@PaperAlien i feel when people think of "live service" they don't really know why they are upset when hearing that word. but from everything i read of infinite is sounds like exactly what you said you wanted it to be. it takes place during different time periods.
They released a live action trailer today too that called Saturday's event "Assassins Creed Showcase" so it sure sounds like Mirage will not be the only thing there. Gotta say I'm really excited for the reveal Saturday!
When I think of "Assassins Creed" I think of another open world sprawling game where you avoid it at all costs unless you're unemployed and all kinds of time to kill doing things like petting fish and climbing baskets.
Not saying they don't put some new ideas into these expansive, now-too boring games, but my god Ubisoft is pretty much a one trick pony these days eh?
Thats a lot of assassins creed.i want a assassins creed in japan so that cool.word up son
Just in case we didn't hear "Ghost of Tsushima is Assassin's Creed but good" enough times, now they're hanging the fruit even lower by straight up making AC in a Japanese setting. Pretty funny to be honest.
And nah, I'm not excited about any of these.
Right after I swear off Ubisoft games, they announce what I desperately wanted 10 years ago... AC in Japan.
Bunch of chicken. Before Tsushima they never dared to touch Japan. Ubisoft is so out of touch, it's painfully obvious in every single game of theirs.
Oh well, their games have been snorefests anyway. Huge empty worlds, clunky gameplay, manufactured to make you addicted and waste time, terribly written, terrible immersion, garbage game design, bullet sponges, bug and glitchfests. All of them. Always.
Who cares anymore, honestly?
Japan would be perfect.
Had tons of Fun with the last 3 AC. And the amount of content has been insane - fantastic bang for the dollar. So I’ll try whatever they make next for sure.
I'll be super happy if it's true. Haven't played Ghost of Tsushima yet, but honestly... AC is just what the doctor ordered for me.
make a linear assassins creed game set in modern times or japan with a better and heavy emphasis on stealth killing or “assassinating” in different ways . anything else is played out .
or they could basically reskin sly cooper in an assassins creed fashion
@BoldAndBrash yeah , ubisoft is trash . i think rainbow six siege is their only good game right now and that came out how many years ago ??
@Deoxyr1bose the live service elements are usually pretty easy to ignore to be fair, far more subtle than the early live service ps3 days where they'd ram it down you every time you loaded the game.
It would be awesome if they went for smaller games that are around 39.99$
If they keep the Japan game just like Origins and Valhalla, I will definitely buy.
@Deoxyr1bose as if they'll make more money than what they're already making, they'll see, they never learn.
So, one game with different country settings? Doesn't sound good or interesting. You'd be jumping around too much, or finish one area before going to the next, which at that point why 1 game instead of 2 separate games? Have to see how it plays out, but probably will bail since the term LIVE SERVICE is being used. Might as well add some NFT's while they are at it
Remember when they said for 15 years that an AC set in Japan was too obvious of a setting and then we got that game that looked like AC in japan and sold a ***** load?
@Smiffy01 @naruball AC games releasing in 2024 will be on Switch Pro, which according to Bloomberg launched in 2019, 2020 and 2021.😝
To each their own, but I know I’m done with a franchise when an announcement like this fills me with dread rather than excitement. Thanks, Valhalla
We already had Assassin's Creed in Japan, it was called Ghost of Tsushima. I highly doubt Ubisoft could get anywhere near the quality of that.
Assassins Creed to a live service model? NO THANKS!!! And thank you for the memories… I’m outie!
Lol they gonna burn people out on AC again? I thought they learned, but i guess not.
Ubisoft and excitement haven't belonged in the same sentence in quite some time now.
Over 10 years ago Ubisoft stood firm on their statement of them never making an AC game set in Japan (among a few other settnings/peroids), and now we are, reportedly, getting one. Talk about a big turnabout.
But it doesn't matter. GoT still remains the closest to the good "AC in Japan" experience we needed imo, and with the way Ubisoft is nowadays plus this actual AC Japan game appearently being live service, I don't expect much good coming from this. If its done right somehow then hurray but not holding my breath here.
Sounds alright, but I do have concerns about how blotted the install will be.
@rjejr hahahaha. Why anyone would use them as a source is beyond me.
@riceNpea
‘If I'm using a broken clock to tell the time how…’
Because you wouldn’t.
🤣
I've loved the last 3 creed games (still have to finish off valhalla) and for me the open world settings have been what i always wanted from them so more of the same and a japanese era setting is brilliant news..everybodys moaning but will still buy them either day 1 or wait for a sale etc...and then return to moan about them lol.
@Mad001 Still the best one if you ask me..
@Amusei exactly im wanting more of the apple and Desmond cant believe the end of the 3rd game. completely went down hill after that. a total reboot and nothing to do with the original. i may play the recent ones off and on but never grabs me like the first game did. argonian? im a big scrolls fan to 👍
I'm looking forward to seeing them all. Just Japan I'm not all that interested in. It's up to them to blow me away. Only way I think Japan will work is that the Samurai are the templars. It needs to be different to GoT or it's going to feel like a big step backwards from it
@IOI so true but I think most companies “leak” stuff as it creates better headlines, clicks, buzz etc
Is very annoying.
GIVE SHAO JUN A PROPER AAA AC GAME YOU COWARDS!!!!!!
Love the Assassin's Creed franchise, infact I'd say it's probably my favourite franchise since day 1 even if Valhalla was total rubbish with barely any redeeming features and only slightly better than unity which was awful. Visage appears to be going back to core AC so I'm hopeful. Even though Odyssey was excellent
@naruball The same reason they use any source, for the clicks. It's always about the clicks. 😂
@Mad001 Haven't even played the third one. AC1 had something special and was amazing at the time. I remember playing it as a kid and how awesome it felt running through ancient holy lands. AC2 was still pretty cool and after that I finished Black Flag, which bored me and I haven't played an AC since.
And yeah, it's from Oblivion, It's Amusei from the thieves guild in the Waterfront. 😹 Funny you mentioned it cause I just changed my profile pic for the first time in like 8 years lol.
lol class oblivion was the first elderscrolls i got in to , black flag i could play past the 1st hour they completely lost me. the first 3 assassin creeds games plus the 2 between 2 and 3 the ezio story was great. just the 3rd game had the bad ending all im saying lol
have a good one
p s the fresh lambs urine in the 1st game i was like wtf 😂🤣
